So, today is day 181 so we're not quite half-way through the year, but I thought I'd mention some of my favorite books I've read this year. My goal is 366 titles read this year and I'm up to 197... I think. (Yeah, I'm a little ahead of the game, but there will be vacations and NaNoWriMo to account for.) And these are titles so some are shorter than others... it's still sort of amazing... even to me, but it is killing my writing goals. Le sigh. Anyway...

I know Ender's Game should really be in a separate category with other Sci-fi/Fantasy books but most of the ones I've read fit in other categories and I've got some on my TBR to read before the end of the year, so keep your pants on. (And, yes, my Classics list could have gone to 20 with just the Agatha Christie books I've read, but I think you got the point with the ones listed.)

ReplyDeleteDo you have Agatha Christie's Peril at End House on your TBR? Do you keep your TBR online somewhere? (Usually I am well-behaved, yes, but then people mention books and I turn into NOSY NOSY NOSY :)
My favorites of the year so far:
* Be Brave, Be Strong: A Journey Across the Great Divide - Jill Homer (girl on bike kicks ass)
* - Denise Vittola (vampire forensic pathologist has terrible poly relationships)
* Her Secret Treasure - Cindi Myers (ignore the unfortunate cover!)
* The Kate McCall series - Tina Lencioni (PI in training has unfortunate family)
It took me way too long to narrow it down to just three as well. You know you're having a pretty decent year when you hit the halfway point and realize, hey, I've read a ton of really great books this year!
The second one's "The Winter Man". I had a little trouble with the comment verification process.
DeleteI do have Peril at End House on my TBR list, but I'm sliding out of my Christie phase. Is that your favorite? I've got The Seven Dials Mystery, Peril at End House, After the Funeral, Crooked House, Death Comes as the End, Sparkling Cyanide, and Evil Under the Sun on my TBR list of Christies, but I was waiting for money to buy them. Le sigh. If only I had endless money to spend on books by Agatha Christie.
ReplyDeleteI don't post my TBR list because it's over 400 books long and things jump the list so I have no idea when or if I'm going to get to some of these books. I read according to my moods so some get read sooner than others.
So many books...so little time.
Wow. TYhat's an impressive amount of books! One of my favorite books of the year is Roni Loren's CRASH INTO YOU. However, she didn't have much competetion. I've hardly read a thing this year. My stupid iPhone has been distracting me.
