Where Ladybugs Roar

Confessions and Passions of a Compulsive Writer

Sunday, November 1, 2009

"The time has come,"

the Walrus said. "To talk of many things: of shoes--of ships--of sealing wax--of cabbages and kings And why the sea is boiling hot--and whether pigs have wings." ~ Lewis Carroll

So, it's officially November 1st--which means that NaNoWriMo has begun. (National Novel Writing Month) I'm signed up to be a participant in the mad attempt to write 50,000 words during the month of November.

Unfortunately, while I stayed up late to ring in the month, I'm exhausted and over-stimulated from too much Halloween-ing. I'm completely weened out. It was fun, but I'm exhausted.

The MCs for my novel are:

Drumroll.

Sidra Tempe (nickname Scorch)
Seth Gray

YA Urban Fantasy/Paranormal

First Person Narrative

The time has come.... BAWAHAHA!

Okay. I'm tired. Good night. Happy NaNoWriMo, Everyone. Oh, if you feel like adding me as a buddy on there, I've decided to get all complicated and go by: Wendy Sparrow

  2. I added you as a buddy. Look forward to "writing" with you. Good Luck!

I did the same as you - stayed up late to get the early start - but I crashed around 3 am (new time) but I'm up and ready to go again.

  4. That's awesome! I want to do it, but am afraid to commit to that much writing. I don't want to be stressed when my family is all coming in town. Maybe my nanowrimo will be in February. It just has to be before August. I'm determined to finish a novel before I'm 30...only 9 months left!

Good luck Wendy. I love following your blog. thanks for finding me :)

  5. I am completely in awe of all of the participants in NaNo. I just want to fix/finish what I'm working on right now to have time for another 2,000 words every night. No, thank you. Good luck and be sure to keep us posted on your progress.

  7. Yay! Another crazy NaNo'er! Good luck with your work. I'll look forward to hearing about your progress, too. I normally write in first person also, but I'm challenging myself to go 3rd person this time and it already sounds like an old Dickens novel. Blah! Oh well. I can revise later. :) BTW- You can hit your characters with a tornado multiple times as long as they live in OK, Kansas or TX. Ha Ha!
